The Variant Effect Prediction Training Course (VEPTC) 2025 is taking place in Porto, Portugal, from September 28th to October 1st, bringing together clinicians for an intensive week of learning, collaboration and discussion on the latest approaches to variant interpretation.
enGenome was invited to contribute to the scientific program where Ivan Limongelli, CTO will deliver a lecture titled “Using Artificial Intelligence for Variant Interpretation: Past, Present and Future,” offering a comprehensive look at how AI has evolved from early automation tools to today’s explainable and clinically integrated systems.
Meanwhile, Gianluca Passaniti will lead a practical workshop, “From Data to Diagnosis: Variant Interpretation Made Clear,” where participants will work hands-on with real cases to explore both genotype- and phenotype-driven approaches using the eVai platform. The session will guide attendees through variant prioritization following ACMG guidelines and demonstrate how the company’s AI can refine analysis to pinpoint causative variants.
VEPTC provides a space where professionals can learn, exchange experiences, and connect theory with real-world practice.
